this morning after the usual ritual of the spin of Laika, we dived into the city. Ljubljana is friendly, small and decidedly human scale. The center stretches along the river Ljubljanica is all reserved for pedestrians and is rich in monuments, curiosities and green spaces. A few steps and we arrive on the Dragon Bridge: According to legend, Jason, after stealing the wrong direction and level up the Danube and the Ljubljanica defeated in these places a terrible dragon, symbol of the city today. Continuing on you come across Preseren square dominated by the harmonious façade of the Franciscan church designed on the Italian model, in front of the triple deck, unfortunately under renovation. At this point we cross the river and see the Town Hall, a building that I preferred due to its clock tower and the Duomo. Before stopping for a break we meet the University, the National Library and the beautiful summer theater Krizanke, in the square dedicated to the French Revolution where you will find a monument to Napoleon, and usually the Church of San Giacomo, especially for six small altars, besides the main one, on each of the two aisles. It is now lunchtime and we stopped at a local restaurant on Ciril Metodov, Sokol, who turned out to be one of the best local cuisine; Pocket decides that today will not go back to any animal, but I approve order a meat dish Deer in cherry sauce, very Slovenian, very tasty! Back to the hotel, we spend some 'time with Laika and go back to being tourists. through a cable car ride which takes only one minute climb to the castle that overlooks the entire city, not before we stopped to look at the big carrillon that beeps every hour from the puppet theater, very nice, we missed the return for very little! The castle has become a major attraction travel, there are exhibitions and installations. Climb the long and winding staircase to the top of the tower and enjoy the splendid panorama opens up to the Alps Pocket has a desire to fulfill: the facade of the former Commercial Bank of Cooperatives, is found with little effort and actually is very beautiful and unique, with its bright colors and crisp. The building has a unique style because it was a failed attempt by the architect Ivan Vurnik to create a particular national architecture. We go back to the hotel and we buy the worst ice cream ever tasted before! A curiosity: this ice cream is not sold in quantities but tastes the same cone taste only half the cost of with the same two flavors. High typical dinner tonight ... but we will have become a bit 'sweet tooth?!
