Last night we walked over thirty miles of curves in the rain to go to Rovinj (Rovinj), DefInt from our guide book "the pearl of Istria. There seemed so different from Porec, with the streets full of tourists, shops and restaurants. We stopped at one of the many tables on the street, I enjoy grilled calamari and filet of pork in plum sauce StranOne.
Today we decided to do more miles the discovery of some small villages scattered on the various headlands inland towards Rijeca (River). We've been Groznjan (Grisignana), village home to many schools for young musicians and art galleries if they meet one every ten steps, walking up and down the streets paved with stone. Around the country, many vantage points from which I can easily think of all these artists who find inspiration. After buying a small souvenir shops in one of the off again towards our second goal: Hum. Find it is not exactly easy, Franco decided to take us a few miles of dirt road before us back to the asphalt; crossed Buzet, the town of truffles, continue for at least twenty kilometers before finally finding the directions to get to our destination. The guide maintains that Hum is the smallest city in the world, with its twenty people each year elect their mayor. The road to this village is lined with sculptures that pay homage to the Glagolitic alphabet, an old Slavonic alphabet of forty-one letters, used for centuries to compose the sacred texts. We stop in the only restaurant in the country, the guide considers "excellent." In reality it is a restaurant like many others, nothing special. After lunch we allow ourselves a brief walk through the stone alleyways and small houses of Hum, take some pictures and leave again in the direction of what should have been be the third goal of the day: Motovun (goat). In fact, once you discover that the city is closed to traffic for a film festival and is only accessible through bus service from the valley leading to the headland. We give up because of fatigue and Laika and return home.
