end Monday morning we got to see Samson and The Source, which are pebble beaches, with crystal clear seawater that really leaves you speechless.
To enter, you have to walk down the dirt paths; gets a little 'hard work, but well worth it.
After two hours of the Caribbean sea, we went. A quick bite and then off the ferry. How sad to go home, nell'afa and smog in the lower valley.
However, I have a small stock of the situation for those who want to go on this wonderful holiday.
First, you should go there in June, July or September, the island is small, the beaches and the streets are too few and tortuous. In August, it's too crowded to enjoy it. I also recommend to stay at least two weeks because the things to see and do are many and we are very sorry that it had decided to stop just seven days.
Second, the ferry is not booked; it a party every time and place is for sure.
Third, we must have a means of transport and being able to drive well, since the roads are winding and sometimes narrow. There are buses to the beaches, but if you want to be independent and turn the island into a long and wide, should have their own transport (Procchio rent a Vespa, for example). Fourth, we cross the island in about an hour, so do not worry too much about the location of the accommodation you choose, so you're never far from anything. If you're ever in the west, and Marciana Procchio are beautiful to visit during the day while at night it is better to focus on Marciana Marina, where there is a bit 'more than life. A
Marciana, stop by the Capepe , shop for jams and Unzip where a couple very nice works and makes the skin medieval footwear, belts, bags and more.
in Marciana Marina, on the waterfront is worth visiting the stalls, which offer various kinds of handicrafts, there is a girl who sells handmade soap made by her. In addition to the stalls, there are a couple of shops you should not miss: Tear Off and Nena & Tomy . The first sells clothing handmade from natural materials, the second photo workshop.
As for the food did not say anything, we ate well everywhere, and Osteria La Porta del Noce of Marciana, Marciana Marina at Old Navy and Bastia's in Colle d'Oran, for a dinner of fish costs about 30 € head, and a lunch in a bar costs about 15 €.
Fifth, if you have a dog, take it. The beaches are almost all completely free, especially those with stones and gravel, those beaches are partly equipped and partly free. Only at St. Andrew's we have seen a ban, while the other parties no one stories.
Sixth, the Elba are kind and friendly and the island is really beautiful. If you've ever done, go there and if you've already been there, tornateci.
Seventh, do not be fooled by the men who hire boats!
